A DAY short of his 32nd birthday, Red Bull’s V8 Supercars champion Jamie Whincup was taught a valuable life lesson: never work with animals.
The reigning six-time series champion was at Sydney’s Taronga Park Zoo as part of V8 Supercars’ launch of their 2015 season.
One of his tasks for the visit was to pose with one of the zoo’s black-headed pythons while clutching his championship trophy.
You can guess what happened next.

Taronga Zoo officials said there had not been a snake bite at Taronga Zoo for more than 20 years.
Fortunately for the V8 legend, the non-venomous snake’s teeth left only a flesh wound, and he is expected to be fully fit to hop behind the wheel at this weekend’s V8 Supercars sydney.com SuperTest.
