Group of friends invites stranger on trip to Spain after pal with the same name dropped out.
A GROUP of British friends have taken a complete and utter stranger on an all-expenses paid holiday to Spain after their friend couldn’t attend.
The group was left one short for the trip when a mate dropped out — so they replaced him with a stranger on Facebook with the same name.
According to The Sun, Joe McGrath was all set for the getaway to Majorca for a 30th birthday bash but withdrew at the last minute.
With the tickets all booked in his name, the ten men and women from Bristol found another Joe McGrath online and sent him a friend request along with an invitation to join them on the trip.
“Hi Joe, would you consider coming on a holiday with a group of nine strangers if they had already arranged flights for you and an all inclusive hotel?” the message read.

The 26-year-old stranger, who works for a radio station in Manchester, jumped at the chance.
He met them for the first time at Bristol’s airport on Saturday before taking off on a three-day break.
“Although I had my doubt if the offer was legit, I decided to take the plunge as my legendary boss gave me the time off work,” Mr McGrath wrote on Facebook.

Now he considers the group of strangers his best friends.
“I drove down to Bristol on Saturday night and had a mad three days with complete strangers that I think I can call my good friends.”
Mr McGrath, who arrived home on Wednesday, said the whole experience made his year.
“What a mega group of people! I loved every minute of it,” he wrote.
