Bernard Tomic is looking to break a losing streak.
BERNARD Tomic’s hopes of ending a frustrating - and lengthening losing streak - have been compromised by a confronting draw at the Monte Carlo Masters.
The struggling Queenslander will tonight face tenacious Argentine claycourter Diego Schwartzman on the baseliner’s favourite surface.
Saddled with an underwhelming 2-6 win-loss record this season, Tomic has not played since injuring his back in Indian Wells last month.
He has faced Schwartzman only once previously, succumbing 2-6 2-6 on clay in Istanbul last year.

The talented all-courter was pilloried for retiring in 27c conditions in Acapulco in February, describing the heat as “unbearable” only to return to the court a few hours later to contest doubles.
Tomic has won only three of 11 matches on European clay over the past two seasons.
