PORNSTAR Christy Mack has revealed the most tortuous moment of the trial of her former boyfriend War Machine.

Mack, real name Christine Mackinday, was savagely beaten by the mixed martial artist in August, 2014, after he broke into her house and found her in bed with then-boyfriend Corey Thomas.

War Machine, who legally changed his name from Jon Koppenhaver during an MMA career that saw him compete on The Ultimate Fighter and in the UFC, was last month convicted of sexual assault and kidnapping stemming from the Las Vegas attack.

Mack will share her story on an upcoming episode of HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. A trailer for the episode shows the 25-year-old wiping away tears as she recalls the emotion of coming face-to-face with her former lover and attacker in court.

“I never looked at him except when I was asked to identify him,” Mack says.

“There was one time, I believe it was in the initial hearing, where he had mouthed that he loved me. That was very difficult and I began bawling immediately. Because for a long time I did feel still emotionally connected to him.

“(That connection) doesn’t (go away easily). It stays with you for a long time. While I don’t feel the love that I used to feel for him now, going through this process that somebody you did love, or someone I felt __like I loved, is extremely hard.”

During the trial, prosecutors said Mack still loved her ex-boyfriend even after he beat her nearly to death.

“He threw a dog blanket on her as she was convulsing from a lacerated liver and she still loved him,” prosecutor Jacqueline Bluth.

Mackinday testified that he beat her for two hours until she could escape to get help. She said she suffered a broken nose, lost teeth, a fractured rib, broken bones in her face and a damaged liver.

War Machine’s lawyer told the court his client had “blind rage” and “tunnel vision” when he stormed into Mack’s home and found her clothed in bed with Thomas.

According to his lawyer, a cocktail of drugs, including Lexapro, Adderal and steroids, contributed to his aggressive behaviour.

War Machine broke his silence in late March in a lengthy statement on Twitter, saying he’s finally happy one week after learning he faces up to life in prison without parole.

“Well, that didn’t go very well, now did it?” the post read. “Would you believe me, though, if I said that I have nothing but joy inside, even now as I am sure to receive some type of life sentence? It’s true. Often times I have heard men in neighbouring cells go to their cells and cry after receiving such news, but how can I? How can I cry tears of sorrow over the circumstances responsible for saving my soul?”

The 35-year-old, who was also acquitted of burglary with a deadly weapon, sexually motivated coercion and battery with intent to commit sexual assault, said the life sentence he faces is not “too high a price.”

“Not at all, I gladly trade this false life in for the real one to come; I have been nothing but blessed by all of this,” the post continued. “Now, if only I could somehow receive Christy’s forgiveness … And if only I could one day hear that she too had been saved! That would remove every last bit of tarnish from this tragedy.”

War Machine’s statement also addressed Mack directly. “One day, when enough time has passed, and when your wounds are fully healed, I hope that you will write to me, or, perhaps, even visit me, so that I can apologise completely, and so that I can tell you about all that I have found in regard to god. He is real and can heal and complete you deep inside, if only you knew the full extent to which he had healed me … I will never cease to pray for you.”

War Machine is scheduled to appear in court again next month for sentencing.
