THE tension between Australia and India so evident throughout the four-Test series is not expected to ease when the countries meet in a one-day international at the MCG this afternoon.
Just more than one week has elapsed since the completion of the four Test series and but the fire between Australia and India is still burning as they ramp up their preparations for next month’s ICC World Cup.
David Warner is expected to take his place at the top of the Australian order despite suffering hamstring soreness during his matchwinning century against England on Friday night.
While, MS Dhoni will lead the Indian side for the first time since announcing his retirement from Test cricket in bizarre circumstances following the MCG Test.
Australia, India and England play each other twice during the tri-series, with the two top-ranked sides qualifying for the final.
Warner scored 127 to help Australia chase down England’s total of 234 and gain a bonus point at the SCG to open the series.
Play will begin at the MCG from 2.20 PM local time.
