WESTS Tigers have confirmed James Tedesco will be leaving the club at the end of the 2017 NRL season.

The Tigers released a statement this morning regarding Tedesco at the same time as the Roosters announced a four-year deal with Tedesco.

Tedesco’s management informed the Tigers that he will be continuing his playing career at another NRL club, the Tigers statement read.

The 24-year-old has played 78 games for Wests Tigers since making his debut in Round 1 of the 2012 season.

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe wished Tedesco well for the next stage of his playing career.

“I’m sure this decision hasn’t been made lightly by James and while it will be disappointing to see him leave at season’s end we will continue to provide him with all the support he needs,” Pascoe said.

“James is a quality young man, both on and off the field, and I’m sure he’ll be a great addition to his new club.”

Sydney Roosters CEO Joe Kelly welcomed the signing.

“James is a tremendously exciting talent whose signature we are pleased to have secured and we look forward to welcoming him to the Roosters in 2018,” he said.

The confirmation from both clubs puts to bed weeks of rumours surrounding Tedesco’s future.

The Daily Telegraph broke the news Tedesco had signed with the Roosters after abandoning talks with the Tigers and Bulldogs in April.

No party would confirm or deny the reports but rumours have continued that Tedesco was going to backflip on his agreement with the Roosters to stay at the Tigers similar to his almost joining the Raiders a few years ago.

Today’s announcements make clear Tedesco’s future.
