GWS earned the tag as the lost dogs home when Western Bulldogs stars Callan Ward and Ryan Griffen defected from the kennel.

Now Jeremy Cameron and Devon Smith are living up to the title with pups of the genuine variety, Billy and Lexie.

Caring for canines isn’t the only thing the pair have in common — they will also chalk up their 100-game milestones together when they take on the in-form St Kilda at Etihad Stadium on Friday night.

“It’s funny how it has come together __like this for Jezza and me,” Smith said.

“You don’t get much time to reflect but it will be a proud moment for both of us.”

Smith and Cameron have known each other since 2011 when they were in the AIS squad which travelled to Italy and the UK.

They debuted together in Round 1 against the Swans the following year.

“It has gone so quickly for Dev and me,” Cameron said.

“To be playing our 100th in the same game is pretty special and something we’ll look back on down the track.”

As well as a love of dogs Smith and Cameron are also regular fishing partners, which both believe helps their team work on the field.

VETERAN: STEVIE J’S CAREER NOT DONE YET

The Crows have arguably the best forward line in the AFL but the Giants aren’t far behind them, with the centurions both playing vital roles.

“The forward line has been getting better over the years,” Cameron said.

“In our first few years we had a few injuries and there were lots of changes in the team but now we’ve been able to keep the same five or six players most weeks.

“Jonny Patton, Rory Lobb and I have been combining well and the small guys are playing good footy as well.”

Cameron has won the Giants’ goalkicking award in each of their five seasons and is in shape to make it five on the trot with 20 goals from the opening five rounds.

Smith has booted eight this year and is back to his very best after a knee injury interrupted his 2016 campaign.

“It takes time to get synergy in any footy team,” Smith said.

“That’s not just in the lines but between the lines __like the forwards and the midfielders. Most of our team are now in the 80-100 game range so we know how each other play and what we do with the ball. It makes it a lot easier.”
